We had an extremely busy second day in Thailand! We started with a delicious breakfast, followed by an orientation. We learned about the project the very first Thailand completed, which was a clean water distribution system. We learned about the water filtration system and that this project provides clean water to people in a 20-30km radius of the church! We also got to pick the last mango on Khem's mango tree! After orientation we went to our project site and saw our project for the very first time! It was amazing to see what we have been working on all year in real life. The contractors did an amazing job. We took some measurements, ate some mangos and tamarind from the trees nearby and took pictures of the kitchen so far.
Then we went to last year's site and checked on the project which was a hand washing station. We learned some valuable lessons on what may be easiest to maintain in our project. Next, we drove to PUC Thailand 138's project site and checked the progress the contractors have made on their project as well. After checking on their project we headed to the infamous HomePro! We looked at sinks, refrigerators, and shelving to purchase for our kitchen. We took pictures to show the school cook and make sure we get exactly what she wants! We bought shelving for our kitchen and made plans to go back to HomePro after we talk with the cook. Lastly, we ended the day at Texas Hotpot! Eating Hotpot for the first time was a cool experience, but we aren't really sure what was Texan about it!
We are looking forward to starting work on Monday! Stay tuned!
