After another delicious breakfast this morning, we attended the service at the New Life Church and met the Don Klang community! We introduced ourselves and we all ate lunch together. Afterwards, we went shopping for more supplies for our kitchen. We bought concrete slabs to use as our countertops and Pastor Mike brought them to our site for us!
After that, we went to the mall! Khem bought us ice cream while we waited for Thailand 138 to do some shopping and we ate dinner at the "Food Palace" again; although this one was quite different than the one we went to last time. There was almost no English on any of the menus and we were overwhelmed by choices, but luckily Pastor Dar came to our rescue and ordered us some delicious food! After eating, we headed to Tesco, which is like a Thai Walmart, to buy community engagement supplies. We bought soccer balls, chalk and a lot of materials for fun activities to do with the kids to bond with them and also teach them a little bit about engineering!
Before going home, we stopped at our site to unload supplies, with the help of Khem, the pastors, and Thailand 138 since we had a lot of materials and some were quite heavy.
We are so excited to start our first day of work tomorrow at the school! Stay tuned for updates!
