Hello everyone!
We are extremely excited to share with you the newest pictures of the kitchen! It looks amazing and is just days away from being complete. Since the last blog update, the contractor has installed all the doors and windows , completed much of the finishing work, and finished all plumbing and electrical work! Appliances are now being installed in the kitchen and the opening day is set for Monday July 5th. The district officer, members of the school board, and community leaders are expected to attend the opening ceremony and safety precautions are being put into place, such as social distancing and mask wearing, so that as many people can come see the kitchen as possible in a safe manner! We will be calling in live for the ceremony as well and are very excited to see what everyone thinks of the new kitchen.
Lastly, Our NGO representatives have been incredibly helpful and essential throughout this phase of the project! They have been showing our pre-recorded videos to the students throughout this week and have also prepared little packages for them to take home. We extremely thankful for all their contributions to this project and for allowing us to engage as much as possible with the community despite working remotely!
