Mid-June Update!

What a week!

The contractor has been hard at work and making great progress on the Kitchen! Our team has been blown away by the work done and we are overjoyed to see that the school is on its way to being able to provide fresh and healthy meals for the students. As of now, the contractor has been installing the counters within the kitchen area and pouring the outside slab around the structure.

We have made a few changes to our design to align with the school's needs and desires. One of these changes is two half walls which will be built between the kitchen and the existing canteen to help keep the animals out of the eating area. The second big update is the installation of a drywall ceiling to match the aesthetics of the connected canteen. We are excited about these changes and how they contribute to the overall value of the project! This coming week, we plan to begin the electrical installation and close up the ceiling following the completion of the electrical wiring in the roof.

In terms of our community engagement initiative, we have just been informed that the government has delayed the start of classes indefinitely due to COVID-19. While schools can conduct online classes, the Bannonggo School does not have the resources to do this. We're wishing for a return to normalcy and a decrease in COVID-19 cases so that the students can get back to learning. In the meantime, our team is still hard at work making virtual content that allows for a flexible means of interacting with the students upon their return to classes. This week, team members will be recording a series of language videos to help teach the students English while we learn a bit of Thai ourselves! It is our goal that the students get to know our team and have ownership over the project even through these challenging times.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your support of this project! Without your donations of time, expertise, and financial assistance, our team would not be able to help this project along! We are excited to continue updating you on the progress of the project but until next time,

Hook'em Horns!
